Software Test Analyst

The Job

To further support our continued expansion and maintain our high levels of customer service, we are looking for an experienced Software Test Analyst to join our development team, based at our HQ in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

As an agile organisation the test analyst is a vital part of the development team. They’re involved throughout the software development life cycle from creation of user stories to the final deployment.

Fisc employees are considered to be experts in their chosen fields & everyone from entry level right up to directors are hands on so you will be expected to collaborate effectively, but also take the lead and work with minimal supervision to complete testing related tasks

The Candidate

You will possess a high level of manual testing experience as well a proven background in test planning and a desire to learn new skills.  You will be well-presented, well organised and able to work under your own initiative and able to follow instructions.  You will be able to switch tasks quickly to meet the demands of the role and be a fluid and fluent communicator with your peers, supervisors and clients.

Essential skills

  • At least 2 years manual testing experience.
  • Experience of creating test plans/cases.
  • Experience of working in an agile(or similar methodology) environment.
  • Experience of SQL, not advanced but the ability to write basic queries and update statements is a must
  • Experience of defect/test management software such as Jira, test rail, quality center, TFS.
  • A strong desire to learn new skills, in-particular automated testing.
  • The ability to collaborate within a team
  • The ability to test with minimum supervision.
